Peskov: QR codes bill to get delisted from Putin’s orders

MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) -- The COVID-free QR codes bill will be removed from the list of decrees of Russian President Vladimir Putin because the epidemiological situation has changed, the president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

“You may remember that at the end of last week, our colleague (Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana) Golikova presented a speech and said that the government has decided to postpone the bill,” Peskov said.

“It stems from the fact that the epidemiological circumstances have changed provoked by a new wave that is starting actively. The Omicron wave and new features of the variant, new dynamics of expansion of the disease and a new regime of progress of this illness among the bulk of the infected.”
